Super Robot Wars X is a continuation of the strategy game series, pitting robotic combat machines from different worlds against each other. It's a crossover between mecha anime universes, yet also features its own storyline. The game takes place in the magical world of Al Warth, home to a sorcerer who controls a robot. Wataru, from the anime series, then appears; he's been whisked away to a foreign land, just like in the original. He and his mecha will travel through the game universe, solving puzzles, fighting villains, and collecting items, all in a quest to return to their home.
Super Robot Wars X is a turn based tactical strategy game, like other installments in the series. The player moves their forces (the hero and their allies) across a grid of cells, after which the AI takes over. Units will attack each other and respond to attacks with one of three possible actions evade, block, or counter. Battles can take place in various environments: water, air, and land, which will impact both the mech and its pilot. After a victory, many useful items and upgrades can be found on the battlefield. Since the game features a variety of robots from multiple universes, their characteristics will also vary greatly, including different weapons, armor, and other stats.
