Ratatan Overview

Ratatan is a rhythmic adventure set on the vibrant island of Rataport, located on the planet Redo. The main characters are Ratatans, creatures animated by the power of Medama, who dream of reaching a mythical place called the Beyond to meet the Goddess. The player takes on the role of a conductor, leading not only the unique Ratatans but also an entire army of lovable creatures known as Kobuns. Each journey presents a series of challenges, where success depends on a sense of rhythm and the timely issuance of commands to your musical charges to overcome all the dangers en route to the cherished goal. The central mechanic of Ratatan is built on a combination of side-scrolling and roguelike gameplay, where commands for attack, defense, and movement are executed by pressing buttons in time to the music's beat. By directly controlling one of the Ratatans, the conductor sets the tempo for the entire army of Kobuns, who follow them and carry out their orders. Each hero has their own musical instrument and unique skills that influence the course of battle. For example, the support character Keroronpa uses a megaphone to boost his allies, while the defender Harigittan protects his squad with powerful guitar riffs.
