SUPERHOT moves with the hero and freezes when they stop. The adventure game consists of levels, each containing a puzzle. To advance, the player must solve it, with various playthroughs available. The player can also compete against themselves, achieving increasingly faster movement speeds and more sophisticated and varied kills as each level progresses. The story begins with the player, the hero, controlling a fictionalized version of themselves. The player works with the DOS command line. One day, a friend asks to test the game project superhot.exe with a pirated crack. After killing enemies in several levels, the gamer crashes, but the System sends a message that they are still playing and that it's best to quit. Ignoring the threats, the gamer observes themselves from the outside in a virtual reality headset, but continues playing, and the System takes over their mind, downloading them into its own core. Having become part of the core, the user kills themselves with a headshot. Soon, a notification arrives that they are now one of the Superhot. Well-designed graphics, a variety of levels and ways to complete them, and a variety of available items for combat are the main features of this adventure. During combat, the user quickly approaches a nearby enemy while dodging bullets. During battles, available items are used, such as bottles, fists, and firearms. In Endless and Challenges modes, the player can test their abilities by endlessly engaging in battles with endless opponents, constantly improving their scores, or by accepting a challenge with just a katana and monitoring their results on the leaderboard. A built in editor helps edit the best moments of battles into a single video that can be shared with friends.
