MIMESIS is a team based survival game for four people, where the main threat isn't a monster from without, but rather doubts about an ally nearby. The narrative centers on a group of survivors forced to constantly question whether one of them has been secretly replaced by a hostile entity. Their only refuge from danger is an old tram, transformed into a fragile fortress on wheels. Constant tension is created by an atmosphere of pervasive paranoia, as any mistake or strange behavior can be perceived as a sign of betrayal.

The perpetrators of this psychological terror are creatures known as Mimesis. They appear after a mysterious cursed rain, transforming people into perfect doubles, capable of copying not only the voices and behavior, but even the memories of their victims. The artificial intelligence that controls these creatures allows them to act with a frighteningly human realism, making detection of the substitution virtually impossible. Thus, the MIMESIS project immerses participants in a world where trust is the most scarce resource.

To keep the tram operational and continue its journey during the day, the team makes forays in search of supplies. Fuel, spare parts and a resource called Scrap are vital, as at night, when the rain returns, any stop in the transport threatens imminent destruction. Each expedition is a risky undertaking, taking place on constantly shifting maps. This forces the group to constantly adapt its strategy to survive the hostile environment and hidden enemies within their own ranks.
