Metro Last Light Redux retains the terrifying atmosphere, adds more variety to the weapon roster, and improves the game engine. More than a year has passed since Artyom eliminated the Dark Ones' nest with rockets. The 20th cold winter is behind us, spring is approaching, and the protagonist still can't sleep properly due to constant nightmares about the Dark Ones. The Sparta group and Artyom have moved to D6. There, the protagonist and Khan found another Dark One, a cub. They did this secretly, without telling anyone, but they are met by Melnik, who doesn't understand Artyom's intentions and orders him to kill the Dark One. Upon reaching the surface and confronting the Dark One, the protagonist experiences flashbacks. During the hallucinations, he was unable to do anything; the Nazis captured him and the cub and took them back to the metro. After completing the story of Metro 2033 Last Light the gamer will receive one of two endings. The good and canonical version appears if the player aided civilians, eavesdropped on NPC dialogue, avoided needlessly destroying people and monsters, and spared Lesnitsky and Pavel. During the bad ending, Artyom realizes the inevitable and pulls the lever. An explosion occurs, destroying D6. A short clip then appears of Anna telling a child about his father's heroism. She also reveals that the Dark Ones have left, but promised to return.
