DARK SOULS is one of the most iconic Souls like games. Technically, it's a blend of action, RPG, and metroidvania. The title is renowned for its grim, dark fantasy atmosphere, deep and intricate lore, combat system, and hardcore gameplay. Battles take place in real time. The character can walk, run, jump, perform strong and weak attacks, block with a shield, parry, roll, and backstab. Most actions consume stamina. This is the 2018 remaster. The original DARK SOULS was released on PC back in 2012. The remaster contains the main game and the Artorias of the Abyss expansion. The updated version features improved graphics and 60 FPS support. The creators added the ability to resize the interface and buttons, improved the network code, and made a few minor changes. The gameplay remains unchanged.
Gameplay involves exploring the open world, finding more powerful equipment, leveling up, and battling regular enemies and bosses. Killing enemies rewards souls, which can also be found in secret locations. Souls serve as both XP and the local currency. If the protagonist dies, any unused souls are lost. They can be regained by running from the respawn point to the place of death. However, if you die again along the way, the acquired loot is lost forever. All enemies, except for already killed bosses and minibosses, always respawn after the protagonist dies or rests at a campfire.
The game features backtracking. Shortcuts to previously completed areas can be discovered in locations. This product has a very unique multiplayer mode. Each user can invade another user's game for a short time as a phantom. Gamers can organize PVP or help friends and strangers overcome difficult sections. The character editor allows you to enter a name, customize your character's appearance, and choose a starting class. There are 10 classes to choose from: warrior, beggar, thief, cleric, wizard, knight, pyromancer, hunter, bandit, and wanderer. You can level up to 710.
