Devil May Cry 5 is a sequel to the renowned series, released many years after its predecessor. The developers carefully crafted the installment to fit the times and offer a fresh gaming experience with new visuals, while maintaining continuity with previous installments and including numerous references. The gameplay qualifies it as a hack and slash title. Players have three characters, controlled from a third-person perspective. They will battle numerous enemies, slashing and destroying them, each with their own unique combat style. The environment is destructible, allowing for a more immersive experience of intense combat.
The storyline of Devil May Cry 5 once again follows Dante and Nero, two demon hunters in a dark, demon-infested world full of dangers. To protect people from demonic threats, a private agency of the same name exists, dedicated to the extermination of such creatures. One day, the agency receives a commission to defeat the demon Urizen and recover the magical sword Yamato, which he stole. The mission fails, nearly resulting in the deaths of all the demonic threat fighters. Urizen, however, turns out to be somehow connected to Dante's deceased brother, Vergil. To unravel the mystery, take revenge on Urizen, and restore order to the world, the heroes must set out on a journey.
